a fully funded PhD student position (three years starting from November 2020) is available in my group to work on one of the following topics:
-
Biomolecular characterization of the amylovoran biosynthetic pathway in the plant pathogen Erwinia amylovora
-
Carbohydrate-active enzymes in the plant pathogen Erwinia amylovora.
Techniques to be used will include protein _expression_, purification and crystallization and structure determination mainly by X-ray protein crystallography (data will
be collected at synchrotron sites) and biochemical characterization both in house and through collaboration with other European scientific institutions.
Experience in protein _expression_ and purification is required. Students are also expected to spend a training period in a foreign university or research centre during
the second or third year of their PhD.
