Using external NIS services

If you want to use an external NIS server, then you probably want to change the domainname information contained in the file /etc/sysconfig/network, and also edit the file /etc/yp.conf on each machine to select the new domainname and ypserver. You also need to add the IP address of each external NIS server to the NFSSERVERS entry in /etc/firewall.ipchains and restart the firewall. You will also need to restart ypbind on each client machine - e.g.using

   doall /etc/rc.d/init.d/ypbind restart
