Meeting Minutes

1. Review what we have done in last three weeks
   • WY has updated dbviewer by adding 'View files from job' feature. 'Delete Job' was added but since it is not a complete operation so now it was removed.PJB commented that for now it is better to concentrate to the features that CCP4i doesn't have.
   • WY has added 'GetNotebook' command in dbccp4i.
   • WY has updated python API. Now the APIs return actural value or raise exception if it fails. WY updated dbconsole.py, starKey.py and client_example.py accordingly. PJB commented that we need to have a changefiles to record the major changes. PJB suggested to have a document showing examples of using API since it will be handy for developers to try API.
   • WY put the db handler dependencies packages in ftp site, but only source code packages are available. PJB commented that we should include windows version of the packages as well. We should look at the install script next.
   • WY looked at Java API and the socket connection with db handler is working. PJB commented that this is not a high priority for now.
   • WY has tested db handler & dbviewer in Windows. It works fine.
   • PJB fixed the bugs relating to windows platform.
   • PJB added shadow & fonts features in dbviewer.
   • PJB updated some documents.
2. Review the deliverables.
   • PJB gave some feedbacks from Keith's meeting on Wednesday. Keith talked to him about dbviewer. PJB replied that since developer meeting last month, we haven't received any feedback from users.
   • Where to find the users to try dbviewer is a question. Graeme is going to hold a BIOXHIT meeting on July, we could take advantages to meet some users at the meeting.
   • Continue to talk to Ronan is another way to get useful feedback.
   • Review M07/1, M07/2,M07/3 documents. The next step is updating tracing database content to include sub steps informationan and show it in dbviewer.
3. Set plan for next month.
   • Regarding release 0.2, we need to decide when we want to do it.
   • Talk about proposed change to ccp4i.py. Manipulating input and output files and obtaining full path for a file should be in the handler. ccp4i.py is going to include this function and dbhandler is likely to change to include these commands if ccp4i.py changes. Data and time for jobs are considered to change in ccp4i.py.
   • Next meeting is set to Thursday afternoon (3rd May) to discuss more detail of plans.

Action Items

1. WY: Send the dbccp4i & python, Tcl ClientAPI commands comparison document to PJB.
2. WY: Look at M07/1, M07/2, M07/3 documents.
3. PJB: Test 'View files from Job' function in the dbviewer.
