What is BIOXHIT?

BIOXHIT is an integrated project funded for four years starting January 2004 within the 6th Framework Programme of the European Commission. BIOXHIT will coordinate scientists at all European synchrotrons and leading software developers in a timely and unprecedented joint effort to develop, assemble and provide a highly effective technology platform for Structural Genomics.

BIOXHIT aims to consolidate the process of bio-macromolecular structure determination from bottom up. Research will be undertaken to develop new approaches in crystallisation, to completely automate the diffraction data collection process all the way towards the automated determination of the structure. All of this will be unified and embraced by an efficient bioinformatics structure.
