Dear all,
Professor Reinhard Jahn's group at Max Planck Institute of Biophysical Chemistry (Department of Neurobiology) is seeking applications for a PhD position from enthusiastic Master's students who are willing to pursue doctoral research in the field of biochemistry, biophysics and structural biology. The project involves membrane protein production in prokaryotic as well as eukaryotic expression system, purification and functional and structural characterization. Successful candidate will perform affinity purification, SEC, proteoliposome preparation and transport assays, and protein-ligand interaction (ITC, DSC, DSF, Fluorescence anisotropy) experiments.
Candidates with a background in life sciences and a strong interest in biophysics are encouraged to apply.
Interested candidates, please send a cover letter, CV, and contact details of at least two referees to
"jahn, office" <office.jahn@mpibpc.mpg.de> and "cc" to <viveka-nand.malviya@mpibpc.mpg.de>
