[ccp4bb] Postdoctoral Fellow Position at University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio

The laboratory of Dr. Yogesh Gupta at University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio (UT Health San Antonio™) is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Postdoctoral Fellow to study protein-nucleic acid interactions in post-transcriptional gene regulation and chromatin biology. We combine various structural biology tools (X-ray, cryo-EM, NMR) with in silico, and cell-based methods to address basic mechanistic questions, and exploit this knowledge for drug development. Our well equipped lab is physically located within the Greehey Children’s Cancer Research Institute (Greehey CCRI) at UT Health San Antonio. In addition, we have full access to an extensive array of institutional core facilities (Biochemistry core, CIDD, Research core labs), and regular access to synchrotron beamlines.

Applicants with demonstrated experience in protein biochemistry and structural biology, and keen interest in studying large protein-nucleic acid assemblies by X-ray and cryo-EM are preferred. Candidates are expected to possess strong organizational, interpersonal skills, and ability to work as part of a team. Candidate should hold (or soon expect to hold) a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in a related discipline. Prior experience in X-ray crystallography, biophysical methods (SPR, AUC, ITC, MST etc.), and enzyme kinetics is desirable.

Salary is competitive ($52,704 per year plus standard fringe benefits of UT Health San Antonio). San Antonio offers affordable cost of living and there is no state income tax in Texas.
