The Biochemistry Department at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine is seeking applicants for a tenure track Assistant Professor position in the area of Computational Protein Engineering and Design. Applicants should demonstrate the potential to develop an independent, interdisciplinary research program in the design of variants of naturally occurring macromolecules with enhanced stability and/or modified selectivity and affinity toward natural receptors, as well as the de novo design of new functional scaffolds. The successful candidate will enjoy a highly collaborative research community engaged in a wide range of studies such as engineered modulation of the immune response, enzymatic transition state analysis, inhibitor design and screening, protein-protein interaction analysis and modulation, chromatin biology and epigenetics, drug development for apoptosis control and hematological disease and cutting-edge applications of mass spectrometry. These efforts are supported by outstanding resources for high-throughput protein production and structure determination. Notably, Montefiore Health Care, one of the largest providers of health care in the New York Area serves as the University Hospital of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, providing unparalleled opportunities for translational and clinical applications of basic science.

The Albert Einstein College of Medicine is located on a picturesque New York City campus in a residential area minutes from Westchester County and a short commute to Manhattan.

Applicants must hold a PhD, MD, or equivalent degree.
