Cryo-Electron Microscopy facility Manager
 
Instrument Analysis Center, Shanghai Jiao Tong University 

The SJTU CryoEM facility is a shared resource for cutting-edge research in structural biology with a diverse user base. Housed in the center are multiple cryo Ems including a state-of-the-art 300 kV Titan Krios TEM. The main function of the facility is high-quality data collection on user-provided ready-to-image cryo grids and collaborating with labs that provide solution samples to cover the entire cryoEM workflow from sample calibration, cryo grid preparation, screening, all the way to high-resolution 3D electron density map generation. The facility is undergoing an exciting expansion phase and is now seeking motivated candidates to fill two full-time Senior Research Assistant positions. 

Qualifications:
1.	Master’s degree or above in science field.
2.	Can start as soon as possible.
3.	Demonstrated experience in Electron Microscopy (EM), preferably in protein cryo-EM/negative stain EM. Overseas experience is a plus.
4.	Good hands-on skills and attention to details.
5.	Experience in Relion or other EM structure determination software is preferred;
6.	Proficient in reading and writing in both English and Chinese. 
7.	Maintain a high level of professional expertise through familiarity with current scientific literature.
8.	Team player with good communication skills.

Job responsibilities:
1.	Operate and maintain 300 kV cryo TEM, 200 kV cryo TEMs, and other related equipment.
1.	Interact with users and provide support and help when needed.
2.	Sample optimization and grid preparation.
3.	Carry out grid loading, screening, and data collection of cryo or negative stain samples according to the operation instruction.
4.	Assist users with structure determination.
5.	Develop and optimize methods for high-resolution cryo-EM. 
6.	Other related tasks of the Instrument Analytical Center.
