The Högbom lab at the Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics, Stockholm University has openings for two postdoctoral researchers in the area of radical- or metalloprotein structure and function.
We study a number of proteins that utilize metal or radical cofactors to perform challenging chemical reactions such as oxygen activation, lipid oxidation and ribonucleotide reduction.
The ideal candidate has a keen interest in biochemistry and biophysics with a strong background in one or several of the following techniques, X-ray crystallography, Cryo EM, electrochemistry, bioinorganic spectroscopy, or SAXS, and is familiar with basic molecular biology and protein production/purification methods.
Enthusiasm for scientific discovery and problem-solving skills are key personal traits required for these positions.
