PhD position at the Institute for Structural Biology,
Grenoble, France Development of ultrastable fluorescent proteins for quantitative super resolution microscopy at cryogenic temperature. The recruited student will work in the Pixel team: http://www.ibs.fr/research/research-groups/dynamics-and-kinetics-of-molecular-processes-group-m-weik/pixel/ He/she will investigate the structural photophysics of fluorescent proteins used as markers in super-resolution microscopy in conditions of cryogenic temperature. The ultimate goal will be to engineer a variant that efficiently photoactivates at such low temperature.
Candidates should have a strong background in biophysics and/or biochemistry. Preliminary experience in protein crystallography, molecular biology and/or advanced optical microscopy will be key advantages. The project will start in
