Offer: Postdoc in cryo-EM image analysis methods development for studying continuous conformational changes of macromolecular complexes

The work will be focused on the development of cryo-EM image analysis methods (algorithms and software) for studying continuous conformational changes of biomacromolecular complexes.

Required skills and qualities:

- PhD degree in Computational Sciences, Applied Mathematics, Physics or a similar field;

- Strong programming skills;

- Experience in the development of methods for cryo-EM image analysis or in the development of methods for molecular mechanics simulation (molecular dynamics simulation or normal mode analysis);

- Good interpersonal skills;

- Creative mind;

- Good oral and written communication skills.

Contract duration:
18 months, with a possibility of extension.

Work context:
The work will be performed in the context of a project funded by the French National Research Agency (ANR), at the Institut de minéralogie, de physique des matériaux et de cosmochimie (IMPMC-UMR 7590, Sorbonne Université, 75005 Paris). The IMPMC is a joint research unit of the CNRS, the Sorbonne Université, and the Muséum National d'Histoire Naturelle, counting around 200 members. It is a highly pluridisciplinary laboratory, composed of researchers, researchers-teachers, and engineers with different backgrounds (physics, Earth science, biology, chemistry, computer science, etc.). Various experimental and theoretical research topics are studied at the IMPMC, such as elucidation of the structure of materials and macromolecular assemblies, investigation of their dynamic properties, study of interactions between the living world and the mineral world, etc.
