[ccp4bb] PhD positions at Aston University (UK) on membrane proteins

Hello everyone,

I just wanted to draw your attention to some exciting PhD opportunities at the Aston University in Birmingham (UK). They are part of an EU Marie Skłodowska-Curie funded COFUND Doctoral Programme entitled MemTrain (Cell Membranes in Industrial Processes Training). There are a total of 12 (yes 12!) positions available split between two cohorts, with applications for the first six open now with a deadline of 30th of June to start in October this year. Projects will all be related to membrane protein biology, and at least some projects will involve structural and biophysical characterisation of membrane proteins (particularly the project with industrial collaborator Peak Proteins). All projects will have a strong link between Aston University Membrane Protein and Lipid Research Group and established industrial collaborators (11 in total).

Further information about the specific projects on offer can be obtained by contacting the supervisors as detailed on the AMPL website or Dr Alan Goddard (a.goddard@aston.ac.uk). https://www2.aston.ac.uk/lhs/research/centres-facilities/molecular-biomedical-research/ampl/Aston%20Membrane%20Proteins%20and%20Lipids%20(AMPL)

Please note, candidates must not have worked for more than 12 months within the last three years in the UK (prior to the closing date of this call).

More information, eligibility and application here: https://jobs.aston.ac.uk/Vacancy.aspx?ref=R190176

Please forward on to interested parties.

Thanks!
Steve
