A POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP position supported by The Welch Foundation is available immediately in the group of Prof. Francis Tsai in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX. The Tsai lab uses structural analysis techniques including X-ray crystallography, single-particle cryo-EM, and electron cryotomography (cryo-ET) to determine the structure, function, and mechanism of energy-dependent macromolecular machines involved in protein quality control and stress response signaling.

The successful applicant must be highly-motivated and possess demonstrated experience in protein biochemistry, gene cloning, and protein _expression_. Prior experience in enzymology or working with model organisms (bacteria, S. cerevisisae or C. elegans) is an advantage. Prior experience with structural analysis methods, including protein crystallography, NMR, or cryo-EM is not required and training will be provided as needed. Applicants should possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and have a recent Ph.D. in a relevant field. Salary is commensurate with experience and pegged to the current NIH scale.

To apply, please send your CV, description of research experience, and contact information for three referees to ftsai@bcm.edu. Further information may be found at the group's web site at https://www.bcm.edu/research/labs/francis-tsai
