[ccp4bb] Postdoc position at the Yale University, School of Medicine

The Lee Lab in the Department of Pharmacology, at the Yale School of Medicine, has an immediate opening for a highly motivated Postdoctoral Associate to investigate the molecular mechanism of endocrine fibroblast growth factor (FGF) signaling. Endocrine FGFs, which include, FGF15/19, FGF21, and FGF23, activate signaling via FGF receptors and require binding to the Klotho family of surface receptors; FGF23 signaling requires alpha-Klotho, while FGF15/19 and FGF21 signaling requires beta-Klotho. The research in our laboratory is focused on the structural elucidation, biophysical, and biochemical analyses of complexes involved in endocrine FGF signaling.

Applicants should have a PhD in biochemistry, biophysics, or a related field and should have extensive experience in recombinant protein production (E.coli and mammalian cells) and structural biology techniques (X-ray crystallography or cryo-EM), as well as excellent written and oral communication skills. Experience with mammalian cell culture and quantitative biophysical analyses are also desirable.

Interested candidates should send a current CV, a statement of research interests, and the names and contact information of three references to Sangwon Lee (s.lee@yale.edu).

Yale University is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer and welcomes applications from women, members of minority groups, persons with disabilities and protected veterans.
