1. Staff Scientist position

We are looking for a Scientist to lead a structure determination pipeline as part of a collaborative project between the labs of David Baker (HHMI/University of Washington; https://www.bakerlab.org ) and Gira Bhabha & Damian Ekiert (NYU School of Medicine; http://bhabhaekiertlab.org ). The primary role of this Scientist will be to use X-ray crystallography to determine the structures of computationally designed proteins, protein-ligand, and protein-protein complexes in order to experimentally assess how well computationally designed proteins match their target structure. This work will enable the creation of proteins with unique properties that have broad applications in medicine, biotechnology, and industry.  For some examples of past collaborative work, see:

- Fleishman, et al. Science. 2011 332:816-21.

Location: Manhattan, New York City @ NYU School of Medicine

Qualifications:
- PhD in a relevant field
- Extensive experience in X-ray crystallography
- Ability and desire to teach and mentor junior scientists
- Ability and willingness to learn to troubleshoot X-ray crystallography equipment such as Rock Imagers, Mosquito etc.
- Very organized
- Detail-oriented
- Excellent digital record-keeping skills
- Enjoys working with others
