Movie packages

Introduction

CCP4mg uses a few external programs which are not provided in the distribution. CCP4mg will run without these programs but some functionality will be missing.

Movie packages

CCP4MG contains all the software to actually compile movies, however, it does not contain all the software to actually play them back. To do this, you will want to install some addtional software:

CentOS 4

Following http://wiki.centos.org/AdditionalResources/Repositories/RPMForge

Download on of the following: 

rpm --import http://dag.wieers.com/rpm/packages/RPM-GPG-KEY.dag.txt
rpm -i rpmforge-release-0.5.2-2.el4.rf.*.rpm
yum install gstreamer-plugins-bad gstreamer-plugins-ugly

yumwill require lots of additional dependencies for these packages. After this, movies should play fine using the system movie player (totem) and also in CCP4MG's file viewer.

CentOS 5

Following http://wiki.centos.org/AdditionalResources/Repositories/RPMForge

Ubuntu 9.04, 10.04

Browse to the movie file generated by CCP4MG using the OS file browser. Double-click on the movie and follow the instructions to install the required codecs.

Fedora 13

Browse to the movie file generated by CCP4MG using the OS file browser. Double-click on the movie and follow the instructions to install the required codecs.

Fedora 15

Things seem to work out of the box on this distribution.

Debian 5

Unknown

Debian 6

Things seem to work out of the box on this distribution.

OpenSUSE 11.1

Playing back movies in an easy way does not seem possible on this distribution.

Mandriva

Install the gstreamer mpeg package provided by PLF, e.g. http://ftp.yandex.ru/mandriva/plf/.
